Kris Cukar

"CAD/CAM with Sirona InLab"

The lecture will address several challenges dental labs face in today’s increasingly
competitive environment with an emphasis upon lean manufacturing as an aspect of automation with Cerec inLab CAD/CAM. We will survey the processes involved in the fabrication of full contour crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers and specifically pure zirconium copings/frameworks. The process includes capturing three dimensional data either by optical or laser scan; acquiring the preparation into a virtual model; restoration design and the many tools at your disposal to maintain integrity and control; the milling process; working the restoration once milled; and how to move the restoration into final production via stain/glaze, infiltration/crystallization or sintering. Several tips and tricks will be discussed to minimize material waste, increase productivity and maximize utilization in your laboratory.  The seminar will also highlight the variety of materials and numerous indications currently available with inLab. Highlights include:

  • Digital file transfer with Cerec Connect
  • Digital model fabrication
  • Implant abutment milling with inLab
  • Implant systems supported by inLab
  • Galileos cone beam integration with Cerec and inLab
  • Surgical guide production from Sirona
  • Open architecture aspects for inLab, 3Shape, and 3D
  • New inLab products from Vita and Ivoclar

Kris Cukar has been a dental technician since 1980.  He managed a commercial dental laboratory in Kansas City, Missouri for 10 years before owing and operating Cutting Edge Dental Lab in Kansas City, Missouri.  He has had training with the Dawson Center, in “The Concept of Complete Dentistry” series of programs and at Institute of Oral Art & Design with Lee Culp, along with numerous training courses in dental implantology. He trained at Ivolcar in pressable ceramics and CAD/CAM system ceramics. "Hilla Porcelain Transfer: Replicate the Internal and Structures of Natural Teeth"

Make monolithic crowns pop with this highly aesthetic and natural looking digital ceramic transfer which makes the task of creating incisal characterization in a crown easier.  The digital ceramic transfer material is extremely thin at 6 microns and creates 3D dimensionality in the restoration.  Regardless if you have a thick or thin layer of porcelain it looks the same,   Hilla™ Porcelain Transfers can be applied universally on all porcelains internally or externally.  Learn how to use Hilla™ to simplify and improve the process of characterizing lab processed dental restorations and how to develop better communication between the laboratory, dentist and patient with the incisal characterization guide.

Uri Yarovesky CDT, a ceramist, owner and President of Opus One Laboratories, Inc. in Agoura Hills, California is a graduate of LACC in Dental Technology.  He has been a pioneer in the development of new applications for laboratory processed composite resins. Uri has helped to improve and refine the methods of layering color in ceramics and composites, and was one of the developers of the “Concept Inlay/Onlay” technique. He led an intensive research and development effort that successfully conceived the patented “Encore Bridge” and the “Mosaic” posterior characterization guide.  He has also developed the Enamelette Porcelain Veneer technique and Musette composite gingival tissue replication. In 2008, Uri launched Hilla Technologies a dental products company that has created a revolutionary new product called Hilla Digital Transfers.
