During this presentation, the following topics and life-saving tips will be addressed:

• Adult and child CPR Skills
• Basics of bloodborne pathogens
• Helping a conscious choked person
• Breathing for a person
• Performing CPR chest compressions
• Helping an unconscious choked person

 

After graduating high school, Michael Joiner got involved with a Volunteer Fire Department in Habersham County where he realized his passion for Emergency Services. He decided that Emergency Services would be his next and last career. Michael graduated from North Georgia Technical College 2004 receiving a certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician and Basic Fire Fighting. He then decided to further his education and received a certificate for NPQ Firefighter 1, Haz-Mat Operations, Basic High Angle Rescue, and numerous other classes. Michael is currently training for his NPQ Firefighter 2 and preparing for Lumpkin County’s Lieutenant’s Exam. Michael has worked with Lumpkin County Fire and EMS, Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and White County EMS for 7 years.

Dan Witcher has been a firefighter since 2001.  He then decided to further his career and received a certificate for Emergency Medical Technician from North Georgia Technical College in 2004.  Since then he has received certificates for NPQ Firefighter 1, NPQ Instructor 1, BLS Instructor, and numerous other classes. Dan has been teaching CPR and First Aid since 2007. Dan works for Forsyth County Fire Dept and is a Lieutenant at Lumpkin County Fire & EMS.
