CDT is one of the best designations a dental technician can have to prove his or her qualifications. It is not that difficult to become a CDT. What you need to have is a well-planned course, good guidance and time to study. This program will focus on test taking skills, study guidance, practice test for CDT exam, time management and problem solving .This course will cover a review of Dental Anatomy, Dental Materials and their physical properties and other aspects of dental lab procedures. An overview of the practical exam content for Complete Dentures, Crown and Bridge, Ceramics, Partial Dentures and Orthodontics will also be included. Hari Prasad BS, MS, MCDT graduated from the King George College of Dentistry and is the Assistant Director and Senior Research Scientist of the Hard Tissue Research Laboratory at the Universty of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Hari S. Prasad, Master CDT, serves on the NBC Board of Trustees and is a volunteer on numerous NBC committees. He has completed Advanced Studies in Dental Technology in Ceramics and Orthodontics, College of Dentistry
University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is an author of more than 50 scientific articles regarding dental implants and bone substitutes and has also lectured domestically and internationally. Hari is a Fellow and Master of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He owns and operates MP Orthodontics. Michael A. Swain MS, CDT began his career in 1975 in the Dental Laboratory Technology Program at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. His service included assignments as a technical training instructor, technician and laboratory manager. He received his CDT in partial dentures and crown & bridge. Mr. Swain completed an undergraduate degree in Occupational Education at Wayland Baptist University. He later earned a Master of Science Degree in Management through Troy University. Mr. Swain retired from military service in 1999 and joined the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. There he taught complete dentures and removable partial dentures in the Certificate Program and Human Resource Management at the Bachelor’s level. The dental laboratory program transferred to San Antonio College in 2007 and Mr. Swain was appointed program director in 2008. He is an active member of the Dental Laboratory Association of Texas and the River City Study Club.
