For your dedicated service, efforts and leadership to promote financial stability, planning and overview; for your strong support of the association’s mission and vision; and for the valuable guidance and training you provided to those that served with you, the Southeastern Conference of Dental Laboratories, Inc. proudly presents the Robert N. Cross Service Award to Robert Warner, CDT April 11, 2008 |
Robert N. Cross was a laboratory owner in Buckhead , Georgia . He is described by a former employee as a shy person and that it took great effort on his part to become a spokesperson in the industry. He believed in the value that a strong association brings to a laboratory owner. He is also described as one that was unselfish with his time and would not say “No”.
Bob was from a generation of “joiners” and he attended everything he could. He is also described as a giver – meaning that when he accepted a position, project or whatever, he OWNED it and took great pride in seeing it to fruition. He was totally committed to those things that were important enough to get his attention. Bob is also described as one that did not do these things for personal recognition…he just had a tremendous drive to do all in his power to make it a better place. He demonstrated this by his efforts to improve the relationship between dental laboratory owners and organized dentistry.
In honor of Bob Cross, the Southeastern Conference of Dental Laboratories will periodically recognize an individual or individuals that give EXCEPTIONAL service to the SCDL and to the industry at large.
The Southeastern Conference rarely presents more than one Cross award in any given year but the board approved two awards this year.
